Check out these pencils by Neil. Never before have I seen a corpse look so gorgeous.
Well, maybe once …
Haven’t posted anything since setting the site up, so here’s the synopsis for the mini-series. Don’t say we’re not good to you.
GANGRENE
In a city of corrupt cops, Detective Dan Green was among the worst. More crooked than half the city’s criminals, Dan would happily turn a blind eye to any situation, provided the price was right.
All that changed the night he died.
Two weeks after being murdered while investigating the disappearance of eight-year-old Kelly Maitland, Dan crawled his way free of the shallow grave he’d been dumped in. Something – or someone – had brought him back to life, trapping his fully working intellect inside the rotting body of a murdered corpse.
Believing he has been brought back from the dead to make amends for his past crimes, Dan resumes his quest to save the missing girl. Soon his living dead status begins to prove useful. He does not tire. He can feel no pain. Short of a direct hit to the brain, in fact, nothing seems to be able to stop him.
As the case progresses, Dan must battle the chainsaw-wielding kidnappers, a savage mutant French Poodle, and his own rapidly failing body, before confronting the mastermind behind the kidnapping plot – escaped criminal, Nathan Hogg.
A brilliant but delusional scientist, Hogg was jailed for illegally experimenting on humans. Before he was caught, he hid something he was working on in the first place he could – the blood of his baby daughter, Kelly. She doesn’t yet know it, but it’s there inside her now. Something incredible. Something that could change the world. And Hogg wants it back.
With his body about to fail for good, can Dan defeat Hogg and his army of genetically altered freaks, before the madman can kill the girl and take back the secrets hidden in her DNA? Be sure to read the GANGRENE mini-series when it hits the shelves to find out!
Welcome to Gangrene Comics, online home of the upcoming comic book series, GANGRENE.
Created by writer Barry Hutchison and artist Neil Chenier, the book is currently in production and - all being well - will be in a comic shop near you in the first quarter of 2009.
This site is where to keep up to date with all the developments on the series, and here is also where you will find not-available-anywhere-else exclusive sneak peeks of artwork and script extracts.
Notice I said will find. There’s nothing up for you to see yet. But there will be soon, so bookmark us and check back shortly, or all kinds of crazy bad stuff will happen to you. That’s not a threat or nothin’, I’m just sayin’.
